A bright idea for your pain cave

How about linking your lighting to your power levels…

Pretty interesting. This past year I moved my home office (I work from home and train 60-90 minutes at lunch) from a basement bedroom to upstairs, and my moved my daughters to the basement. I went from one window which got poor light to two large windows with tons of light, I do notice a marked difference when training. Honestly, it’s a huge difference overall, more energy, less afternoon drain, hit the ground running in the morning at work without drowning in coffee.

Now imagine what being in the basement does to your daughter’s mood.

I success that you get your daughter a daylight lamp to counteract the lack of sunlight. Hopefully she doesn’t spend much time down there. As a teenager I had my bedroom in the basement and in retrospect it in part contributed to my depression.

Oh for sure, they’re elementary age so the bedroom is really just for sleep right now.

That is a great idea!

EDIT - I just ordered one.

If it works well in the pain cave, I might have to order a second one for the home office. :+1:

My home office is my pain cave and I also use a Day-Light lamp. Mine is a “full-spectrum” True-Light.

I have large windows in front of me providing ample daylight but still have in the winter it is on between 09:00 and 18:00 on the days I work from home. And when riding indoors during daytime it is also on. Hard to say, but I do think it is beneficial somehow.

After 19:00 or 20:00 I don’t usually have it on anymore because of sleep etc.
