If I understand the question, the answer is using basic coaching principles, some data from WKO, and a customized approach based on my physiology and target events. Learned a lot working 3 years with a coach, and rounding out that knowledge with JoinBaseCamp winter group training this year.
@WindWarrior thank you again for your time and super valuable info. Iām continuing to read, both in the books and online.
For now, Iām giving intervals.icu a try. At $ 20 / mo, TP is pretty steep, and Iām just growing into all this stuff. Iām not wealthy⦠if it was ānothingā, Iād just go for it, but it definitely isnāt ānothingā⦠esp w the WKO5 add-on price. I definitely donāt need to jump right into the deep end, in terms of complexity.
But Iām already lightyears ahead of where I was just a couple weeks ago, in my understanding of my own fitness, tracking load, stress, strain / damage, fatigue, etc. Will continue to be patient, and learn as I go. Thank you a ton for your help.
If you want to stick a toe into the deep end without much downside, Iād recommend taking a look at golden cheetah. Itās an opensource tool that has some really impressive analytics and tools, it certainly covers the basics like CTL and stress balance tracking. It has a lot of overlap with WKO, itās just not a favored tool with coaches since it doesnāt have all the sharing/integration features. It also has some additional tools like chung model testing for aero.
@grwoolf thank you for taking the time to mention this, Iāve added it to my file to check out!!!
Hey Chris, happy to help. Intervals.icu is a good tool and easy on the eyes / easy to use. @grwoolf mentioned GoldenCheetah, itās good and I use it from time to time. I started with the free TrainingPeaks and its great for archiving, and the free version will feed WKO5.
