30mm inner rim width for 2.8 tire?

Rocket Ron 27.5 x 2.8 tire: is a 30mm inner rim too narrow for a 60kg rider? This is for use as a front wheel (not rear). Thinking that a 35mm inner would be optimal for overall traction and less “bulb” shape when mounted. Budget prompts the 30mm rather than 35 as they are more readily available as orphan wheels.

According to WTB, you could run a 2.8 on a 25mm rim. :person_shrugging:

35-45 is optimal, though..

I’ve run 29x3s on 30mm rims and had zero issue, even at ridiculously low pressures.
