Agreed. As someone who’s just ordered a Bontrager DropLock to try and improve my dropper remote action . I also vote no

There have been a few in the past that kinda get close, something like this with the “bar centric” design as they call it for the alternate dopper lever options. Just so it can be pushed inside, my current setup (below) almost works, the lockout just takes up so much space and they are close to interfering. The kink in my bar gives me just enough space.

That first Fox remote you posted was my favorite. Sadly, it doesn’t play with 2 position lock-out shocks which is what is offered now. I think it might be possible to get a 3 position shock still built up (Scott uses 3 pos still albeit with Nude).

I had to review that Bontrager option, yes indeed, that does appear to be the best solution that I’ve seen so far! Hope it works for you as well as it looks!

I’ll be giving up “closed” mode to do it, so no guarantees yet that it will work with just “Open” and "“Traction”. It appears the cable pull is 10mm the same as my three position lock out so it should be possible.

I only use closed on the road, but it is nice there. I hope the ergonomic improvement is worth it :crossed_fingers:. I feel like it will be.

Really just waiting for some company to actually do this.

Yes! Hard pass!
One of the reasons why the entry level Canyon Lux Tr is off my list!
I would rather deal with some (most likely insignificant) amount of inefficiencies than deal with that!
Sram grip shift lockout or no lockout!

they do make it

Thats the default lever on KS dropper post

Are you sure about that? That doesn’t see to match my recollection or what I see on their current site.

The kg came on my KS Carbon dropper and I had to upgrade it to the southpaw.

Ya, I realize that they make those specifically for Axis droppers but would be sweet for some wireless actuated lockout. So you have one of those on each side.

I am no mechanical engineer but I would think adding a small solenoid inside the shock/fork that is wirelessly activated would be low profile and low battery usage. In theory, would be less bulky and way cheaper than Fox live value.

It’s a wonder that the SRAM-Scott MTB team don’t already have wireless lockouts on their bikes. As you say, it should be a relatively simple thing using a combination of AXS reverb/the new RS compression control system.

I have the Wofltooth Remote Barcentric. After a few rides to tweak the position of lockout and remote I find it works great. Does not feel like a compromise in functionality. Also much better than the twistloc that came on my Blur. Went through two of those that would not stay locked and decided to move on. Also nice to use whatever grips you like.

Went this route as well and it’s been great.

Damn, I like this and have buyers remorse. I’d have to source (and pay for) a TwinLoc without the dropper part, plus the Barcentric.

Very sleek though. The Barcentric looks like it can be rotated to play really nicely with the lockout remote and would give the better ergonomics for me with my PNW Loam Dropper than the current “thumb way up” set up of the Scott TwinLoc.

@Zackary_Wilkins
So the WT Barcentric replaced the dropper and a One Loc replacing the Twistloc? Or did you rig the Barcentic to replace the twistloc?

The wt barcentric controls the dropper then I got the rockshox oneloc remote lockout. Can also use the fox remote lockout, they both work. I’ve heard the Fox has a better leverage ratio with lighter force to lockout (it’s also cheaper).

@Zackary_Wilkins :joy: just edited as you typed the response. Thanks for the clarification.
