2:1 Glucose-to-Fructose science

Hello! I’ve been using the 2:1 Glucose-to-Fructose combo in my nutrition recently and it’s been working great.

Can anyone point me towards any scientific studies (pubmed, etc.) supporting this ratio?

See the references at the bottom of the page, Asker Jeukendrup was the lead scientist behind all the carb mixes work:

One aspect worth mentioning, these benefits of mixing carbs only make a difference when exercising >2.5h.

and another point, since I’m pretty sure someone smart will criticize this, Jeukendrup was head of the Gatorade Research Institute for quite a while.

Personally, I can put the results into context but others often take a fairly dogmatic stance on any output under such circumstances (without actually reading the papers).

Just mentioning …

Good to call out @sryke. What influence do you think this could have on these conclusions?

Important to note, it looks like Jeukendrup left Gatorate just prior to publishing this post. Two of the Six cited papers were published during his time at Gatorade. (Source: https://www.linkedin.com/in/askerjeukendrup/)

Also, another study by someone besides Jeukendrup: An isocaloric glucose-fructose beverage's effect on simulated 100-km cycling performance compared with a glucose-only beverage - PubMed
