What is wrong with the ATV version?
Other than the remote issues (which exist in other apps too) it sure seems to work well based on info from my wife’s use and several friends.

Yeah, I’ll gladly take the ATV version over my PC program.
The menu is basically unusable and the frame rate is terrible. Which makes me think that they don’t know how to optimize. That said, I am using an old generation of Apple TV, so I didn’t expect the graphics to be PC quality.
Zwift on ATV HD is terrible. ATV 4K hardware paired with a quality TV looks pretty good, imo. The TV/screen quality is something I never thought was much of a variable. Side-by-side with a 1080 Samsung vs 4k Samsung using the same ATV box - the 4K looks brighter and appears to run smoother… likely due to a higher refresh rate? iirc they’re both 30fps but the 4K screen runs it smoother.
They’ve also said they’re holding back the ATV graphics on purpose. Apparently there’s a change of some sort on the horizon that they want to release before unlocking any more potential from the 4K hardware.
Right, and despite the graphics being terrible, the frame rate is still absolutely terrible.
I’d prefer they went with a more stylized, simplified, cartoon-like appearance for the mobile / ATV HD versions if they could at least provide a decent stable frame rate.
I tried to stream it from my PC using Steam Link, and it did technically work, but I would really need a wired LAN for it to work reliably.
But me in the camp of those who think Zwift needs to introduce a Mario kart like world. I also don’t see why Zwift has any downhill sections. It’s a virtual world, just eliminate the freaking downhills. When I rode in Zwift I hated hated hated the downhill sections. I’m riding inside, there is no skill to descending in Zwift, so what’s the point.
For those against a Mario kart world, great, don’t ride in it. This shouldn’t be an either / or, but a both
This so much. They could gameify the thing so good by leaning heavy into rpg elements. I could even see doing group ride raids where you battle against bosses by doing intervals. Players have different roles in a raid group, sprinters, climbers etc. Win and you gain loot and level up etc.
I don’t agree. Developers can only do so many things at a time. An upvote for something you could care less about is time not being spent on the things you would prefer they focus on. Kind of like how I feel about TR focusing on running.
I don’t disagree. But if Zwift wants to materially increase the number of subscribers it has, it has to go after an adjacent market - like people who would ride indoors, but think the idea of making riding indoors mimic (poorly) riding outside is …
