Here’s the deal, Olav Aleksander Bu philosophy for Norwegian triathlon boils down to:
- arguably one of the highest volumes for anyone competing in full distance triathlon, easy endurance is around 1 mmol of lactate
- for specificity lots of threshold training, they use lactate and around 3 to 3.5 mmol
- performance testing
To put it simply, raise vo2max with volume and intensity, and raise fractional utilization (ftp as % vo2max).
