Then you probably don’t mind giving your drivers license, social security, passport and CC numbers either, do you?
The gist of the matter is, most of us use TR for indoor training and it makes zero sense for OUR PERSONAL USE to give location data. Those who do not understand this do not understand either that your data is a product, that is monetized, whether you like it or not. The typical “I have nothing to hide” BS is irrelevant, because everyone has something they do not share publicly, I only mentioned a few but the list is much longer.
You physical location is of nobody’s business and don’t think for a second it is not collected and at some point of your life used for purposes you just may not agree with.
The naivity of thinking that not even your physical data is used is mind-blowing: ever heard of insurance risk categories? For decades now, insurance companies monitor a plethora of health indicators and BMI index is just one of the many. Are you sure not even your weight or HRM development is something that at some point is not used to make you pay a premium for an insurance or mortgage? If it’s not done already, without your knowledge.
I understand that it is an android prerequisite and TR can do nothing against it when we need BL, so the whole matter does not belong on this topic and is just an annoyance. But Android devs are clearly misleading users when they talk about having their interests in mind “since your location could be pinpointed anyway when accessing WiFi of a BL hub”. Well, I don’t need my WiFi when on the trainer and BL on a local level does not give away any position, so it’s all just BS.
Other than that, respect to TR of course, you guys rock.
