Where did you workout (ride, run, etc) OUTSIDE today? (2023)

@bcm monster ride! My parents live in Meredith, so just a tab southwest of where you started.

Yeah, big distance and lots of climbing. Was trying to keep it relatively easy so I didn’t blow myself up, and had to stop in both Conway / Lincoln to make sure I had enough fuel to get me through. I’ve wanted to ride the Kanc for a while now too. Fun ride!

Is there a shoulder / bike lane on the Kanc? Last time I drove it was maybe 25 years ago - in the dark and fog - don’t really have a reason to go across it now.

For the most part, no not really. No bike lanes at all. Pretty much like most other more rural New England roads although the pavement for the most part is in really good condition, with some fresh paving on the east side. I personally didn’t feel any more unsafe though than most other places, although especially on the weekends in the summer and foliage season, you get a LOT of traffic.

Here’s a Kanc picture from the fall a couple years ago. Pretty typical road width. The bad part about it is you will get fast drivers and there are corners… But I guess now that I’m thinking about it, there are plenty of roads that are a LOT worse…

I’m guessing its pan flat till you get to Capitol Hill and all of that climbing is there :muscle:

Yeah, pretty mild for the first couple miles. Just an interstate overpass for elevation.

The lower Capitol Hill is the steepest with one street around 20% grade average.

last ride on the TT bike before leaving for Reno. One of the most uncomfortable rides on this bike I’ve ever had. My hip flexors just wouldn’t loosen upšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Power and speed were good, but required a lot of focus/effort to maintain.

I climbed over 100 feet and set my second best four hour power yesterday.

Rode to Lake Hallwyl to meet up with the familiy of my daughters Godfather, while my Wife and Kids took the car and then later rode back the other way. My Favero’s just cut out after about 50 minutes into the ride… They already cut out on the indor ride on friday but I was anyway already done and they came on again afterwards. Yesterday they just didn’t come on anymore, I checked them in the app and they were fully charged… As soon as I plugged them in at home they went back on… Really hope that it was just some gremlins and not some bigger issue, don’t want to send them bakc for waranty…
Probably did the ride home a bit to hard, went hard up the one proper climb on the way back…

Didn’t take any pictures on the way.

That’s kind of funny that when people need to do intervals that focus on power they tend to look for climbs, but you set your power record on the flats.

For me, I look for consistency for the length of the interval. Flat would be fine too(would allow to work on aero positioning) but pure flat doesn’t exist around me.

When you live in my area, all of your power records are on the flats. I doubt it’s ideal but I have to make it work.
