What Tri saddle for men?

They offer different shapes, and the base allows adjustment in multiple ways.

I need to get some of these for testing and potential recommendations with fitting. One local rider has one and swears by it as a lifesaver for him.

The last thing in the world I want is an adjustable seat.

I took me a good few months to find my groove on an ISM TimeTrial but I have found this to be true of all saddles. When I first started riding (normal bikes) I thought you just sat on a saddle and that was that, the pain was my noobness. Then I thought I had learned how to sit on a saddle. Two years later I realised I had not, and found a new way to sit on a saddle. Then I was comfortable for hours.

So, that’s just a very long way of saying that saddle vendors need to stop selling saddle fittings and learn how to tell people how to sit on their products.

There is some truth to that, and I have instructed more than one fit customer on the proper way to sit on a saddle. Even with that, there are benefits to a range of saddle designs and sizes (to include adjustable ones) because proper position will not solve all saddle fit issues.

I distinctly remember Coach Chad making similar comments on the cast for years (essentially that he could use any saddle because he knew how to sit on and use it), only to hear a mea culpa some years later, when he realized that there indeed some functional differences between some saddles.

I agree, proper use is important, but it is not a cure-all.

Thanks all.

My advice on any purchase regarding fit. Never buy based on what random online people buy. Go get a proper fitting, try out numerous saddles.

@Power13 'To be fair, it was ok for a 12hr TT with the Arione but, I was wearing a comfy road chamois not a thin tri pad! they’re like a comfy sofa or a bar stool

:astonished::astonished:

Arione was my “go to” road saddle for many years…tried to use it for my tri bike and just couldn’t make it work. Took my bike down to FL on Spring Break and by the second day I was in a shop, getting a new saddle…that was how I ended up on the Profile saddle.

Well, an order for a Specialised Stilero is done… Time will tell. I’ll get in on Christmas day…
Next up to finish of the build… wheels!
