I recently purchased a wattbike atom and when using the ERG mode with trainerroad on bluetooth it seems to drop off and the resistance just goes so no matter you can never get the power back up. Will an ANT+ connection help or is this a known issue?

No, it’s not fixed - and frankly, it’ll never be fixed in that current hardware. After all, that’s specifically why in the Wattbike Proton they changed the hardware gearing ratio, to largely eliminate this problem.

For me, I’ve found for the most part, ERG mode works fine (and actually on reflection pretty consistently) with TR and my Wattbike Atom. Where is definitely doesn’t work well, is for very short intervals, typically above VO2, where the ‘catch up’ of the ERG means by the time the registered power r…

This was Taku yesterday trying to get things set up…I expected the yellow power line to be consistent in ERG mode, which is what I had things set up as. [image]

Unsure why this happens? I’ve an atom v2 and it’s perfect on Trainerroad. Really interested as to why this happens for you.

I can fire up another example today no problem. This was from Monday using my Wahoo Kickr (soon to be gifted to my son :wink:), they yellow power line is smoooooooooth as glass in ERG mode on that unlike the helter skelter line from my Wattbike, also in ERG mode. [image]

That kickr has ERG mode power smoothing on giving unrealisticly smooth lines I hate ERG mode power smoothing - it’s the devil

Go into the wahoo app and turn off ERG smoothing and then compare the two.

if it FEELS different now thats an issue - but visually the graph looks ok.
