We don’t need 3-sec power on Garmin’s default workout screen while running a TR workout, and we don’t need a real 12+ hour/week HV plan
Of course I’d love to see both.
Not helping! That’s my current average ![]()

4 hours is better than no hours though!!
bikes!
I don’t disagree that junk miles is a shitty pejorative term. It’s a cycling colloquialism that I use because people get it. Miles vs couch is generally not junk, you’re right. But Z1 that isn’t specifically for recovery, I would argue "junk’ from a strictly training perspective. Maybe poor use of training time is more appropriate. And Z3 gets dicey, especially at HV with intensity demands already met and could move training backwards due to excess fatigue, that’s definitely garbage in garbage out. In terms of bike love, no miles are junk miles and I cede your point on a poorly used phrase ![]()

Z2 miles are absolutely not junk miles, and especially not at the volume we are talking about in this thread.
Whatever that means…
It was a joke…intimating I was, in fact, a dullard.

Fair enough the quote came from a reference to the TR team and I thought it was out of left field… I mean not everyone will agree with them, but they’re not dumb lol. Have they made an over the head emoji yet? Ah, this will do… ![]()
I wonder what @brendanhousler would say about this thread…
From the looks of the account, I don’t expect we will hear anything… but who knows?

Just another note thanking @Sarah for all the thoughtful comments and discussion!
