So, about 4 hours after I purchased a replacement Core at 15% off, the Wahoo rep emailed me that they would send me a new or refurbished Kickr if I permanently disabled mine by cutting through the power connector and sending him a photo of the serial number and destroyed power cable. I did that and they have sent me a brand new replacement, which I am very glad for.
