Unpopular opinion: kit care is a lie. I've disregarded instructions for years and it's perfectly fine

But why do Reds/purples dry in half the time of the Whites, Blacks, Blues, etc?? That’s the most confusing part of the chart for me.

Luckily my fiance and I have the same way of doing laundry. All ‘regular’ clothes in one load on ‘normal’ settings and another load on ‘delicate’ for bike/workout clothes that gets hung up to dry.

Hmm, probably because my kids wore a lot of red and purple school logo shirts, and the loads were smaller. Guessing my oldest was 10 when she made that chart. That kid was always trying to help and take charge, the same kid that tried to convince the teacher in kindergarten that they should teach together :joy:

I would like to add my anecdotes about kits here as well.
I got my first team kit in 2014 (champion systems). I just used those same bib shorts yesterday night on the trainer. Strangely enough, i still have every kit i ever bought (other than the two bib sports that mysteriously vanished). Only my three oldest bib shorts (purchased 2014-2016) are see-through now and i only use them on the trainer at home in privacy.
I don’t understand what the symptoms (besides becoming see-through) are of an old kit which make you believe that they aren’t good any more… i will read through this thread to see if someone has already discussed this…
I do wash cold delicate and hang dry my kits after use… but i haven’t done experiments to see if that actually helped prolong the life of any of my kits so i couldn’t argue against what the original poster said

I’m guessing my old chamois probably have become less supportive but I’m just not as sensitive to noticing.

for all you kids out there reading these posts: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!

The only bibs I’ve ever ruined have been ones I sent through the dryer. Really comfy pair from Ostroy has some stuck on substance, I think a detergent that didn’t fully come off in the washer.

The humidity is low in AZ anyway, so my stuff dries overnight and I have enough pairs that I never have to worry about them being still wet. Air dry only for me.

The strong smell keeps the wheel suckers pulling through!!
