Tyre recommendations: towing children on a MTB

My hardtail cannondail trail has been largely relogated/promoted to towing my daughter in her 2 wheel bike trailer.

Currently running the stock WTB ranger 29x2.25s, however they are a bit worn and could do with upgrading. I find them a bit sluggish on the road, but perhaps thats because i ride my road bike more?

80% of my riding is on average/poor tarmac, often towing my daughter as i mentioned, and want something that rolls fast on the road. However i dont want to use slicks as im hoping to do some gravel road / forest track riding when i have some time. Nothing entirely technical/ difficult but will definitely want some off road traction.

Does anyone have any tyre reccomendations that fit the brief? Bonus points if youre in the same boat  ps theyre ‘regular’ tyres with innertubes.

Conti Race Kings are my goto’s for the same application. Nice good volume, low rolling resistance and pretty good at resisting punctures.

Thanks!!
