I’m very envious :star_struck:

Hi folks- here a picture of an older Sensa Calabria bike that I have. I contemplate selling it, not just because I have a newer Specialized bike, but also because I really don’t like the orange color on it. This made me wonder if anyone has any experience with putting stickers on a carbon frame! Happy to hear (through PM also great).

Is that an Enve stem? Did you cut your fork?

Cervelo stem. Fork is cut and I have a 10mm spacer

Jealous of your tyres! How is the Wicked Will going for you? Are you racing the Whaka?

Unfortunately my first mountain bike in ~5 years… so not much help on tire review

I’d love to do Whaka sometime when I’m home for summer. I’m living in Europe so not an option at the moment. But it’s on the bucket list

I upgraded my stock rims on a 2020 Domane SL5 with Bontrager Aeolus Pro 37 TLR Disc Road Wheels. Very happy with my choice.

Sold my titanium bike. And build this one from the ground up.

Spec:

  • Rondo HVRT size L frame
  • Berk Lupina saddle
  • Pro Vibe Evo handlebar. 105mm stem and 400mm width
  • Rotor 1x13 groupset (46 tooth chainring)
  • 2 Arundel bottlecages
  • Light bicycle 56mm deep wheels with rotor 1x13 hub (10-36 cassette)
  • GP 5000 TL tires
  • Light bicycle 650b gravel tires (10-46 cassette)
  • Pirelli Cinturati Gravel H 45mm in the back and Gravel M 45mm in the front
  • Hambini BB
  • Favero Assioma Duo

Right now it’s 8,02 kg with the 56mm wheels, computer mount and bottle cages but without pedals. Not exceptional but not a drama either. Especially considering it’s an aero gravel bike. With the new GP tires I get under the 8 kg.

Some fine-tuning:

  • Spacers which match the handlebar. They are available for the public in a few months. This looks hideous.
  • Try to reduce the length of the cable at the rear derailleur. Now it’s ugly and there is the risk of catching something when graveling.
  • Make the cables at the front more neatly.

Nice bike. Surprised you’ve gone for a 46T chainring up front - I bought a 44T for my ekar groupset but it’s going back because i realised the the 38T the bike came with is plenty!

I live in the Netherlands. So my riding area is 90% flat and 10% rolling (on asphalt). So at cruising speed my chain is in a nice straight line.

And since riding road is 90% of my kilometres I focused on that.

I stopped reading after that… carry on as you are :+1:

These were in stock for a couple days early December. Canyon Grizl CF SLX w/ 2x GRX di2.

I added the wireless unit right away, and here it is with Rene Hearse Bon Jons (35 mm) w/ latex tubes, XTR rotors, and w/o dork disk:

It felt sluggish on-road with the stock tires (45 mm Maxxis Ramblers), but the Bon Jons completely fixed that. Eventually it’d be great to have a couple wheel sets for the road v gravel tires.

I’m not crazy about the 44 cm handlebar, and have an Enve AR 42 mm on backorder (alternate suggestions welcome), but otherwise :ok_hand:

Beautiful bike! And I think you’ll love the Enve AR…I have it on my road bike and the bars are basically perfect.

I guess I’ve been lucky to find affordable wireless groupsets and SRM’s (srm’s are now very cheap, people would very much not want to use a magnet) TT bike is probably on the TT thread already.
I’m “done” racing road (so going chip’s in for Time Trial + mtb is more fun than riding road bikes)

What frame is that mtb?

Banshee Phantom, rowdy build for not much travel :smirk: !
They have all sorts of different travel options. My opinion of course, but that shock/bottom bracket “cage” is a work of art (a lot like the allez sprint BB, aluminum can be well done)

Bamboo? What does it ride like ?

To not use any industry crunch words (and not being someone overly sensitive). I would say it’s “quite” a lot like a steel bike but less flexy. I quite like it, the headtube is massive so got a much more negative stem. Slowly starting to appreciate not-carbon bikes.

I think it should deserve a bigger spotlight in the ti/steel bike market** edit

I saw on the Groadie thread that you got some Bon Jons too. What do you think? I’ve only been on one ride but thought they were great. I got the ultralights and probably won’t run tubeless.

I sure hope I love the Enve ARs. I’ll have to cut the ends off to install the di2 junction!
