Stories like that will always make me cringe. How have you been holding up?
I am recovering well. It has been 11 weeks now. Physically, i have healed, i have limited pain. Just waiting on my jaw to heal so i can get dental work done for fix the teeth i lost…5…Neck get sore on long rides.
I have always been a pretty positive person. That has not changed. Its the reason I have been able to get back ridding again.
Ouch, 5 teeth!?! But I am glad that you apparently hadn’t been as folded up as your bike.
Great looking bike! I am thinking about buying the same Madone model as you have and was wondering what power meter set up you settled on and if you are happy with your decision. Also do you have any rider feedback you would be willing to share?
Hey PowerHungry
Im happy with the bike, however i can feel a difference when going uphill - but besides that, the Madone is way better. I have garmin vector on the bike.
Many thanks, yeh size 52 as I’m only 5’ 7”. Even compared to my canyon ultimate this may well be the best bike I have owned…yet ![]()
What bars are these? I’ve been looking for a classic bend with flare, these look flared?
Good eye, they are flared a bit. Not crazy like Salsas, but just enough I think. Ritchey WCS Neomax.
Don’t see them on Ritchey site anymore, may be discontinued
But online shops still have.
Look out for Evomax, those are different. Have sweep on the tops as well as the flare for drops. (Unless you want sweeping tops)
Nice, thanks!
Guessing they are Zipp SL88’s. Have one to sell in case you’re interested
Wow! Maybe I missed it, but what stem do you use for your “gravel” configuration?
It’s a Lionardi Johnny SI - 20.

I use it in MTB config too as I’ve got really short legs!

Love the Allez Sprint! Just ordered one myself (and a wheelset to match) that will be here next week.
Where’s that climb in Chile, and where are the best cycling locations? I just spent a few weeks in February traveling the southern half of Chile (Isla Navarino, Puerto Natales, Punta Arenas, Santiago, Torres del Paine) and have to say that it’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. Never once felt unsafe walking about, although I didn’t go out of my way to advertise that I had anything worth taking.

The climb is just on the outskirts of Santiago: Paso Pie Andino , otherwise I loved going up to Valle Nevado in the east of the city and the Maipo in the south of the city. In Santiago it really depends where you are at, how safe/unsafe it is . Me as a blond, tall person stands out anyways ^^ .
Atacama and Pedro de Atacama is great for Mountain biking and altitude training if you are really serious about suffering
. I miss living there. At the moment I am back in Germany but will soon have to move to the south of England.
Isla Navarino, Puerto Natales, Punta Arenas, Santiago, Torres del Paine were all seriously nice places !!!
