Bummer about the actual weight. Maxxis change the Forekaster, adding 200g (!!!) so I’m looking for another go to tire.
That’s an impressive Evo, btw, nice build!

I really really like the paint job on your bike! Great looking build!
The difference was not that big but made it really hard to meet the “Evo project requirement” of going sub 10 kg. All alternative rubber I checked would have been heavier from the get-go (Maxxis, Spesh, Conti) so no real reason not to recommend Wolfpack.
Wow, beautiful build. Great work. I’d also be interested in your Wolfpack review in the tyre thread lol. Impressive to nudge under the 10kg! You settled on position etc?
What brakes are those?
Will add my 2 ct. to the XC tire thread as soon as I have moved the Wolfpacks through various terrain.
I am still fiddling with the position - probably until next week when I have my appointment with my bike fitter.
Managed to pick this up ridiculously cheap off eBay. I suppose there isn’t much appetite for rim brake bikes anymore. Loved my Cipollini Bond and sure this will be a step up. Bars, saddle and wheels are off my old bike but by the time I sell all the surplus kit I now have I should be cost neutral which is decent considering the frame and groupset upgrade (Campagnolo Super Record Mechanical to Super Record EPS)
That is a freaking great looking bike @Peter_Graham
Thank you @lokerola
I was drooling over this Checkpoint this spring … my shop still has it in my size
So happy - I finally got the bike I’ve wanted for years. I need new drink bottles to suit the bike but I’ll need to wait for those
I’m really enjoying it, built it up from a frameset.
Definitely has a few quirks though, big one for me is that it will never be a light bike.
Lovely - can you paste a link to your tri-bars (interested in how they attach to the addict handle bars)
After years of riding a carbon XC MTB, I’ve gone retro with a steel, wide handlebared, big tyre, 140mm hardtail. Great fun it is too
Awesome picture.
Just added the Factor Ostro to the stable to complement my Oiz. Haven’t sold the Ripmo yet, so maybe I do need two Mountain Bikes?
Very nice. How do you like the Oiz?
