Looks like your crank arms have been shortened -what length did you go down to?
They’re 130mm as I have had a lot of knee surgeries from some pretty decent injuries and can only bend my left knee to 85 degree
May I ask which cranks are those? I suppose not any crank arm even can be shortened if they are hollow. Asking cause I’m trying to figure out best way to get shorter cranks for my daughter.
Grx 600 cranks are solid so just got another hole drilled into them. Tiagra are the same.
There are also children’s specific cranksets too. I know my friend just found a 127mm crank arm length crankset for his daughter’s mountain bike.
Yes, if I had a threaded BB I could go with square taper BB and those crank arms are available in variety of lengths. But the bike has press fit BB so the options are more limited at least for reasonable price. Or is there something you can recommend?
Here is the MTB one he sent me, I think this is BSA. https://www.amazon.com/Lightweight-hollowtech-Children-Chainrings-Crankset/dp/B09C8N4LSV/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2JJM6MSAZ5PCX&keywords=lightweight+hollowtech+cnc+kids&qid=1649251371&sprefix=lightweight+hollowtech+cnc+kids%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-1
My winter/gravel bike, Ribble CGR Ti, “Tina” (Tina Ti-ner… I’ll get my coat )
My fast bike, Reilly T325, “Tracey” (Ti-racey, yes my family is ashamed )
Yes they’ve both got cringy names, but I love them
Awesome backdrop for a bike shoot!
How deep are your wheels? Kinda looks like 60-65mm up front and 80-90mm in the back. Do you get blown around?
Also, what bars are you using on Tracey?
65 up front, 88 behind, I have a set of 50mm that I use if I’m in any doubt.
I’ve always been conservative on my weather calls so I’ve never had an issue, and the 50s are fine on anything short of named storm conditions.
Bars are Pro Vibe Aero.
@rkoswald I know! I stumbled across it driving through the panhandle of Nebraska As soon as I saw it I knew that’s where I had to take the pics.
Like a high school Senior photo shoot but for a bike
Exactly! After all, that photo shoot was definitely more important than my senior shoot (at least to me )
OK so it’s not technically my bike, but happy first new bike day to my 17 month old son. He was so pumped when I presented the bike to him this evening. He gave a good first shot at walking it down the sidewalk but then was even more excited about trying to work on it with some tools
My youngest son has the same bike - it’s brilliant.
