The Bike Fitting Mega-Thread

After watching and reading about the idea of holding the aero break away position a bit longer with a bit higher stack I decided to have play with my collection of stems and flipped the 110mm to postive rise.

Stem calcs put it only 2mm longer but 29mm higher with same spacers so will see how if feels on the turbo but I gotta say I’m really concerned with the looks, it certainly looks odd but I guess the proof is in the pudding!

I’m not sure if it’s too out front from a turbo session so took a video (and promptly dropped the bike on the clean carpet, I should look at waxxing the chain)!

I did stick it on myvelo fit which put it within range for reach and height but did say saddle is wrong height and aft/fore setting might need a look at.

As noted before I have had some cramping issue in my calfs so before I save for a proper fit or using their paid for fit (having just spend £200 on a fancy bat box it gotta wait a bit) thought I’d put the videos for the hive mind!

I think all my googling has fed into the YouTube algorithm!

A surprisingly well timed video!

hey everyone. wasn’t sure if I should make a new thread or drop this here

I have been working a lot on my flexibility and I am ready to lower my stack or extend my reach (or both). I’ve been sensitive to change in the past so wondering if I should choose one and stick with it a few weeks?

I am very happy with my saddle position so i’m not gonna change that. I finally got it to where I have no knee or hip pain.

I am 195 lbs. riding a size 58. 120mm stem. 30mm spacers.

i spend 80% of my time on the drops so I shot a quick video. i’m going around 75% FTP.

just wanna be a hair more aero and I think I have the flexibility to do it. open to suggestions. thank you!!

I’m not a fitter but unless you have the stem in the parts box I’d probably go 5mm or 10mm lower first as that’s an easy test just swapping spacers.
