Unfortunately, its rarely rider safety the main concern. It looks to me that it was the broadcasting difficulties what really motivated the decision.
Oh yes changing the route totally fixed the broadcasting issues. Surely that must be the reason they changed it

Damn Bernal is such a boss.
I’ve been enjoying the tension of not knowing where ANYONE was and just waiting to see them come over the line. Gives a real “day out at the bike race” feel about the stage

I don’t think I’ve seen a rider just whip all the other riders in a grand tour every chance he gets this thoroughly in a long time. He’s head and shoulders above the competition.

I’m left wondering how Bernal would be doing against Rog and Pog. He probably choose the Giro as a less hardcore race after his back injury and recovery. But a Rog, Pog, Bernal cage match could be epic.

Yeah I was wondering the exact same thing. Would be a great battle. Maybe the three converge at this years Vuelta
