Strap based HRM with ECG?

Hello,

Clutching at straws here to diagnose a heart issue i have experienced for a long time, and suspect to be Supraventricular tachycardia. I have had holter monitors multiple times, but never experienced symptoms while wearing one. Recently the regularity has been increasing to the point where im having issues even at zone 2 power.

Long story short, is there any reliable portable ECG in the form of a strap or similar anyone can recommend? It must be able to record over 200bpm, unlike garmin/apple watch apps.

Appreciate any help i can get as Healthcare doesn’t seem to really care given im a young and extremely fit person (at least in comparison to the average sedentary population).

Hi!

I was recently diagnosed with exactly this. I used a Polar H10 and the ECGLogger iPhone app to record an ECG to give my cardiologist. Since my issues are only during strain and never during rest, the signal wasn’t really usable because there’s too much noise in it due to muscle movement and other nerve signals firing. So the usefulness of the measurement was very limited. But the cardiologist was able to diagnose just from the symptoms.

Thanks for the response. Was the diagnosis on symptoms enough for you to have a catheter ablation done to solve the issue, or are you just living with it now it’s diagnosed?

In my case, it’s self-limiting: As soon as I stop the effort, my heart rate drops back to normal. That’s why I don’t run much risk of e.g. fainting when driving a car or similar. The cardiologist recommended against the procedure because of that fact. He also said they might not be able to induce the condition prior to ablation, and then they couldn’t perform the procedure anyway. So I’m living with it, but it’s super manageable for me.

Please ask your primary care physician or cardiologist for a Zio patch or similar extended duration (~2 weeks) rhythm monitor. Do everything you can to safely induce your symptoms.

Fair enough. Used to be that way for me, but with the increasing frequency of episodes Im kinda wanting to resolve it.

Thanks mate. Ive found a similar device here in Aus which is worn for a month, so hopefully im on the path to getting it sorted.
