I have a few question on pressure calculator
first bike+rider weight. i should input the full system charged weight, right including 2 750ml bottles, gps, varia, and my weight, fully dressed with gels and bars.
second, what kind of tire casing shoud I choose. i have either gp5k STR for summer or some 4 season from either goodyear or continenal. is the srt thin tire casing and 4 season standard?
Yes, enter the weight of everything you’re bringing. Get dressed up as if you’re heading out the door and load up all of your gear. Weigh everything and use that measurement.
I’d use standard casing for those tires.
Also, it wouldn’t hurt to double-check your numbers on another site as well. I’ve found Sram’s to give some wild figures from time to time..
SILCA and Wolf Tooth have good ones to use as backups..
Calculators have gotten way better in that they all used to prescribe pressure that were too high. FWIW: I start at some reasonable pressure, and if that’s OK, I lower it incrementally until something is less than OK, then go up a little from there. I usually end up a pressures lower than the calculators suggest.
