SRAM DUB Road Crank install - 54Nm.... really?

All,
I also had binding SRAM AXS crankset in a DUB BSC threaded bottom bracket. New frame new parts installation. I had trouble theading the crankset spindle through BB bearings. Thought maybe once assembled things would loosen up, but no joy.

Took everything apart, including the BB. It turns out the cross tube between BB bearings didnt seat properly on the non-drive side causing a heavy rub. Reassembled and crank spins freely. Unfortunately the plastic cross tube got damaged where it fits into the non-drive bearing. At some point I’ll replace the BB, but for now I’ll continue with the build.

Good to know. I have a new set of cranks waiting to go on when I replace the BB.

Send pics of your new build!

Putting this here because I didn’t want to start a new thread.

James Huang recently wrote about changing SRAM DUB crank bolts to a steel version rather than aluminum to make removal easier.
