SRAM Crankset question

Does anybody know if two types of road 8 bolt direct mount exist?

I have a 2025 Force D2 crankset (8 bolt DM) and a Garbaruk AXS road 46T chainring, also 8 bolt DM.

Problem is, the 8 Bolt DM profile won’t fit into the chainring leading me to believe there are two standards. Typically neither SRAM or Garbaruk makes a mention of this

Also does anyone know where the best place for the screws used in the 8 bolt DM system.

Naturally these didn’t come with the crankset and also don’t come with the chainring. Which is annoying…

I’ve never heard of two 8 bolt standards. I always used the bolts I removed when I took off the old chainring and added them to the new one.

Yea these have been bought as a crankset without rings and a separate ring.

M4x8 seems to be the standard and I can get generic 8.8 grade steel cap heads or stainless ones at work for free.

Cant believe £15 a set for 8 bolts bagged by sram lol

There’s only one standard as far as I’m aware. I had a similar issue when I switched to Force D1 crank arms and a power meter spider. The crank arm has to line up to the chainring (or spider in my case) a specific way. I believe there should be an indent that tells you how the crank arm should line up to the chainring.

Solved

Was a small burr on one of the lobes of the profile cut for the chainring not allowing it to slide onto the crank. Small file & 5mins later, all sorted.

Still minus any screws to put it together.
