Looking better than expected

Apart from the tyres with different sidewall colours!

Looks almost identical to the sl7. I was actually hoping for something a tad more drastic.

I had my fingers crossed for a new Venge but now i’m just happy the “Speed Sniffer” is on the conservative side

Well yea, the handlebars are hiding the head tube.

Totally unintentional :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

lol… speed sniffer… that had to be like a VP or CEO of the companies son/daughter in the marketing department that was like… yea lets call it a speed sniffer…

I can’t read that silly name without remembering the Family Guy bit about Adrien Brody in a 3D movie

For me it’s SNL Ladies Man with his brandy snifter

Classic! I got to get a picture with him after a comedy show when he came to town. So damn funny and personable.

So tonight I saw, held, touch and road a SL8 Pro.

I will say the speed sniffer is funny to me… still, but what I can say the bike is freaking solid.

It holds speed well and accelerates well.

Ask me anything and I will try to answer

Sorry absolutely no photos allowed

Will you trade me the 58cm frame for my SL7 frame?

I dont quite get the gripe here…moving the fork and chain stays out like 3mm gets you effectively a 2nd bike for free (gravel). Why would one want that?

Sorry it was a 56cm haha

What wheels & tires were you rolling on? Ride in any good crosswinds? Any sustained rolling above 22mph? Thoughts on cockpit?

So, is it an aero Aethos?

It was the Roval CL II with s-works turbo 2BR 700x26

This bike has the 2-piece cockpit so imo great haha.

It rolled very well, about 185W/212NP to maintain 22mph avg over 38-miles and 1300’ of elevation. This was in a 5-man rotating group.

I would say 22mph solo it took 215-220w on flats, it’s hard to say but felt good.

6 man rotating group on Saturday. Completely flat at sea level. SL7 with Roval Rapide CLX2 and brand new S-Works Mondo non-aero 28c front and 32c rear. No wind. I’m built like a non-aero truck.

Same ride with a slight tailwind and riding behind 3 aero guys on ok (better than earlier) tarmac. From similar conditions it would have been more like 250-260W had I been pulling.

What Specialized store is that? You have been invited to quite a few launch events if I remember correctly?
My LBS (not a specialized store, just sells a lot of Specialized bikes - among all of the stores in bavaria one of the shops with the most sold SWorks afaik) never has bike launch events :frowning:
Are they like when a car dealer gets a new model? I have been invited to those events at Audi a few times and you always got nice food, some entertainment and at the end of the day they showed off the car :open_mouth: (and wanted you to order one)

Does it look any better in person?
