Show me your "Aluminati" builds!

Been meaning to get a pic and make a post for an eternity. Meet Goldfinger!

Allez Sprint
Roval 50s
DA drivetrain, brakes, shifters
p2max type-s power meter
Rotor 3D+ cranks

p.s.
No, I did not remove any decals. For whatever reason, it only has S on the head tube and then Specialized on the top and bottom of the downtube vs the sides. As a result, it is a bit stealthy (for a gold anodized bike w/bright red fork :joy:

Working on an aluminum all-road/gravel bike. In 20+ years of riding, I’ve always loved aluminum, and had… at least five aluminum bikes – Bianchi, Orbea cyclocross, Raleigh cyclocross, Cannondale… The latest CAAD12 and Specialized aluminum frames are just stunning. This winter I had the opportunity to get a custom aluminum frame from Mike Zanconato, a well known builder who also happens to be local to me. It was really cool meeting him – one of a handful of custom builders working with aluminum (also does ti & steel). Slowly putting it together one piece at a time as the budget allows. Basically just need the shifters/brifters to make it rideable. Will upgrade seatpost and various parts as I’m able.

Don’t you mean aluminiati?

I ride a, now beat up, Allez Sprint. It’s not exactly a super bike, but it’s reliable. I love this thing and I’ll probably be getting some nicer wheels for it soon.

My wife and I are run of the mill cyclists in terms of power to weight, so it is always a bit of surprise and a lot of fun when I ride with a lightweight but high ftp rider. It is almost like I have a 500 FTP.

Second iteration, bmx bar for a more relaxed fit. Loving this bike!

Just picked up my new rocket ship yesterday. Will be adding Enve Foundation 65 wheels to it for racing and fast group rides once the wheelset arrives in the shop. Came from a low tier carbon Domane and the difference in power transfer is extraordinary. This bike just wants to go forward, which sounds so dumb to say.

I am also very surprised by it’s compliance too. Coming from the Domane I expected it to be jarring and so far it’s been quite comfortable to ride.

I sold my CAAD12 and moved to a SuperSix at the beginning of the year, but got some new hoops for the CAADX last week. Updated pic because man I still love this bike.

Remember when I said I’d upload photos of my CAAD 12 like 2 years ago?

Here they are!

2018 CAAD 12 54cm frameset in titanium-looking gray
SRAM Red 22 Mechanical with a Quarq DZero
Roval CLX40 Wheelset
Hylix Carbon Seatpost
Prologo Dimension TiRox Saddle
Syntace 120mm Stem
FSA Omega Aluminum Bars
SRAM Bar Tape
Specialized Rib Cage Bottles

Comes in at 14.4lbs as pictured without pedals. Could easily drop weight with tires (currently running tubes with just some spare Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless 28s), bars, saddle and wheels. But, it’s still super light and nimble!

So finally finished my CAAD12 project I started in December.

First run was with some mavics until I could decide what wheels to go with.

Added the final touch, 50mm Prime Black Inc wheels. Stem still needs to be adjusted, will go down a fraction but not going to slam, too old for that.

CAAD 12 Team CNCPT
Ultegra Di2
Prime Primavera Aero bars
Deda zero 110 stem.
Prime Black Inc 50mm Wheels on 25mm tubeless Huttchinsonn 5’s
42 year old overage rider pedalling!

Some black and green Elite cages are on the way.

Yes, that’s a 32 on the back as I’m on the doorstep of the Peak District and I refer you to my age and ability!! Pic shows HUD’s not level, but just the angle I took it at I think.

Looking at a CAAD 13 for my winter bike :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Took me on my first 100 of the year to Humber Bridge. Weather wasn’t great and I ran out of legs after 85 miles. Was so much more comfortable than cheap carbon. It’s a flying machine.

That looks the business :+1:

Which stem are you using with those bars.

Edited it, a standard deda Zero. Plan on adding wireless junction box and stem has space to fit and bars have a nice hole positioned perfectly for the cable.

Have a few alloy bikes in the stable…

First, a Bianchi 1885 from 2005 upgraded with 10x Centaur and Bullet 50 wheels. Love this bike, it’s so smooth to ride.
