That would be awesome.

It is amusing that a lot of handlebar, stem, and seatpost diameters are metric measurements of fractional inch sizes. 1", 1-1/8", and 1-1/4" for example.
I propose the industry starts mixing units. Newton-inches, pounds per square mm, etc.
The trend can start right here, with the Trainerroad forums.
w/lb numbers are a lot less impressive!
Centiwatts per milliounce would be pretty sweet.
… and thus, finally, the reason for - and utter genius of - measuring weight in stones is revealed …
… to gasps and admiration from the assembled throng.
Way to stick the landing!
i have no idea what you’re talking about. what aspect of your biking requires you to think in metric? the only conversion i ever need to do is ft/lbs or inch pounds to newton meters on occasion. i suspect you’re just fishing for an argument here
Giggle here when I listen TR podcasts where everyone’s having tons of new ideas etc…
The last imperial rule in my head went when we went from miles and mph to metric on the roads. A complete pain having to do the conversion if in the north or Britain!
Maybe the UK has a set of standardized rocks somewhere. “Oh and over here is our #14 stone!” Says the bespectacled tour guide, beaming with pride…
Is that 10 stone and 6 pebbles then (similar to how 12 inches are in a foot)?
… only to continue with “But nowadays we base our definition of stone on the kilogram.”
I’d like to think they have a special rebar reinforced concrete block they use for this . The master stone; One stone to rule them all!
I’m going to start mixing and matching.
I’m 6 stone, 4 kilos, 3 pounds, 8 ounces and a gram.
You know that. I know that. I was trying to make it simpler for the ahem international audience.
John Barleycorn Must Die!

I am getting a kick on this
Everyone everywhere should switch to metric
Except for tire pressure.
