Riding in Nice France

So I’m going to be in Nice in a few weeks. I have one (maybe two) day I can ride when I am there. I’ve found a few bike rental shops, so I don’t think that should be a problem, but any recommendations would be welcome. What I’d like to know is what should I ride? I think Col d’Eze is on the list due to location and fame. This can be a big ride as I’ll have all day. I don’t think I will have car access so most likely be riding out of town. Anyone have experience?

I had one afternoon on a work trip earlier this year and managed to squeeze in one afternoon. I did col du Eze, went on to La Turbie and Menton and then cut back to climb the Madone. Back via Peille and Turbie again. Going through Menton is a bit annoying, but everything else is beautiful. It was the best day of riding I had this year, you will love it.

This is my Strava.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. I may steal your ride! Doing Col de la Madone would be great

If you go to Cafe du cycliste on the harbour in Nice they have some group rides you can tag along to. Otherwise, an eze and madone full loop is a nice round trip with a decent amount of elevation

I saw that cafe du cyclist place online. Good it know it’s a good place

I am also going to be in Nice for a weekend soon and have up to a six hour window for a ride - I found this which has some routes for different abilities: Cycling Nice, Cote d'Azur: your ultimate guide - Epic Road Rides

My friend and I are eyeing up the Col de la Madone route as we can’t go west with it being the 70.3 IM World Championships that weekend.

Well here’s a route I did last year, this might inspire a bit. Want to be back! Sieh dir meine Aktivität auf Strava an: https://strava.app.link/OKO8lQHwjZ

Most of France is nice, as long as you don’t enter the hell of the North. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sorry. I’ve been looking at this since you posted it, and just could’t stop myself any longer. :joy:

Thanks everyone for all the rides/advice. Looks like Col d’Eze and Madone will be on the menu!
