RideNow TPU Inner Tubes

Don’t buy from Amazon, way overpriced. Amazon is just a more expensive aliexpress at this point anyway so may as well go to the source. (Chinese speakers may say that aliexpress is just a more expensive Taobao…?).

Based on reports from other forums, the current best cheap tpu tubes are cyclami, not ridenow. Better built around the valve attachment point, removable valves. I have a bunch in use as spares, but I use tubeless and haven’t had a flat that’s needed a tube in 3 years so can’t comment on them yet.

I had one tube like that. I diligently checked under water and there was the tiniest of pinholes, barely detectable. I don’t think it was a puncture, rather a material defect. Threw a patch on it and it seems to be OK.

I had a slow leak with a Ridenow tube, but it was an issue with the valve (which I’ve heard about people having else). I swapped out the valve core and it held air fine.

I’ve been using RN TPU tubes exclusively for over a year on all of my road bikes and no issues with them.

OffBondage from AliExpress. I saw a positive YouTube review and they have an aluminium stem so took a punt. I also think the ride feel was a bit harsher than Butyl.

Sounds like maybe a bad brand. YouTube reviews are often paid/sponsored and maybe there’s a truth in getting what you pay for. I’ve had a few ridenow and they’re OK but I only use them as an emergency carry… in the UK tubolito seem to be the high quality option so I might try them next

Definitely not a brand I would recommend. Seems cheaper brands are very hit and miss. Premium TPUs are so expensive in Australia, A$35 for Tubolito. I can buy 5-6 Butyl tubes for that and are easier to repair. TPU’s definitely have their advantages, compact size was the main reason I wanted to try them, but for me as a recreational/fitness cyclist, the advantages don’t go beyond that. Having said that, I might give RideNow a try sometime in the future.

Silca just announced their TPU tubes. $39
