Sorry if this has been answered, but is Predicted Difficulty aligned with my historical ratings or is it a somewhat objective rating?
For example, I’ll have rated workouts, and TR will have a catalog of those ratings contrasted with my workout data. I might tend to rate things harder or easier, so does TR take that into account, or does it have a sort of population standard for difficulty ratings?
It’s aligned to your historical ratings - so are personal to you.
In the extremes there are people who only ever rate workouts “easy” or “moderate” or fail them - so the prediction is always only “easy” “moderate” or “fail”
What @kevistraining said above is true. The example he gave was somewhere here in the forum recently (I had to shake my head in disbelief but saved myself from commenting).
Oh I saw the guy who only rates easy or fail. Yeah. Odd.
I meant is it true that the predicted difficulty is based on your individual history? If it is, how do they do newbs, for example? Maybe it’s that they take the big picture but add in individual bias?
Not sure for newbies (would like to hear on a podcast about it…maybe mix in less and less common values until enough individual data is there or not show at all) but iirc that guy had a prediction for a threshold workout easy to moderate which showed that the prediction was individual for him.
