Hey Nate i’ve just downloaded the beta now and will try tomorrow. What has been the change and what can we expect to see from the update?
You can actually use the production version now.
We tweaked the algorithm. You should see it hit the target faster and have less wavering once it’s reached its target.
cheers mate. I use a power2max and it has never been that slow to react to changes.
Did Taylor -3 tonight (3x12 min of 30 sec vo2 repeats) and PowerMatch worked well on latest iOS 2019.4.0.xxx app.
Well done, thank you!
Wow! @Nate_Pearson, this update is amazing! I just did Mills and the experience was so smooth! Thanks for this update! If you would record L/R power I’ll give TrainerRoad a 10/10!
Seriously though, this was an excellent update, thank you!
@Nate_Pearson: is the new version already available for iOS too?
@Nate_Pearson I just downloaded the beta app. Should I stay on that or switch back to regular? I’m happy to stay in the beta program if it helps development
@Nate_Pearson did some vo2 efforts last night with the new powermatch changes on Windows desktop application. Still some matching issues going on, predominantly with overshoot to undershoot. The first few intervals it wasn’t even getting close to target power but eventually settled in.
Replying to myself I can confirm that the new version is available for iOS.
If you like the latest stuff but don’t mind a bug here or there stay in the beta. If you hate bugs I would go back to production.
What power meter and trainer combo are you on?
@Nate_Pearson Just done my first workout (Spencer +2) using the latest update on the Android app. The improvements to Power Match are brilliant! I’ve no idea what you’ve done to it but it is so much better. No lags or surges just smooth, even, constant and very responsive power. Today’s workout felt much more like an outdoor effort, where the turbo actually responded to my efforts rather than ignore them! Well done TR.
TR app for Android - version 2019.4.0.
Stages LR power meter - calibrated before workout.
Cycleops Hammer (H1) - calibrated after 10 minute workout.
PM and Hammer paired using ANT+
4iiii power matched with 2014 KICKR.
ANT+ connection through windows desktop application
Figures… my app updated AFTER Spencer +2 this morning. Ha!
@Nate_Pearson i’ve now done 2 very different sessions using the new Beta for Mac. Unfortunately, both sessions were quite frustrating with regards to Powermatch.
On Monday I did Baxter -2 and yesterday I did Charybdis. I had to unpair my powermeter before the second interval on Charybdis because it was fluctuating too much.
I was using a Stages 105 Gen 2 paired to an Elite Direto using bluetooth.
Could I be doing something wrong?
Link to ride?
Did my first ride with the new Powermatch since updating iOS app yesterday. Pettit was noticably smoother and less spiky this morning, with PM seeming to respond much faster than before. I’m looking forward to Leconte tomorrow to see how it responds with the shorter surges.
Hi folks,
I’ve had my second frustrating ride this evening using what I presume is the new algorithm.
Sudden unexpected changes in resistance and up two minutes before power match bring back everything in line. No changes in cadence that might have caused this.
I’m using an Elite Qubo Digital B+ with Power2Max Type S as the source. And yes I’m used to slower reaction times than a direct drive system but this system has worked fine since starting trainerroad in 2017.
Pettit = (Log In to TrainerRoad)
Fletcher = (Log In to TrainerRoad)
I’m guessing this problem isn’t just me?
@Nate_Pearson is that too me or @zentrumsounds?
