Curious how others have been rating workouts lately given the instantaneous feedback the model gives you based on your rating.
Two rides have had me hung up:
Eclipse -1 Which i had to drop by 5% within the first long SS interval. I rated hard, because what I ended up doing was hard. The workout as prescribed was obviously very hard or max effort. You know those days where the mind is weaker than the body? This was one of those days.
Then todays outdoor ride was generally Z1-Z2, though I put 3 max effort climbs of 1-3 minutes scattered throughout. I hit lifetime best 30 second and 5 minute power in that ride, though i’d consider the overall ride ‘moderate’ considering I was just noodling around at 180 watts for the majority of the ride.
Should I be rating the hardest part of the ride, or the general consensus of the whole ride?
I believe that you want to rate based upon the entire workout and not just the hard parts or easy parts. When I’m stuck between two ratings lately I generally choose what the AI thinks it should be unless I’m sure it was harder or easier.
When you drop the intensity though, I am not sure how to rate this now so hopefully others will chime in. If the AI is looking at the work done, then by changing the intensity I have effectively made it easier. So do I rate what I have done or what I was expected to do….I don’t know anymore…lol
The TR guidance is to rate it as hard if that’s how it felt. The system already knows you’ve lowered the intensity and downgraded you, there’s no need for you to downgrade yourself again. The OP rated it correctly.
