Pedal extenders with spider based power meter?

I couldn’t find an answer so figured I’d ask folks here. I see that pedal extenders are often not recommended with pedal based power meters, but can they be used with spider based power meters (Magene P515 or Quarq DFour)?

I currently have Assioma Duo Shi which I swap between bikes/pedal bodies periodically and it’s a pain. I’m thinking about keeping the SPD bodies on the Assiomas for my gravel bike (Force Wide 1x cranks), and possibly getting a Magene P515 with Shimano SPD-SL pedals for my road bike (maybe a Quarq DFour but that would be a more involved swap). This would require pedal extenders to get the wider stance width that works for me.

I suppose the easiest option is to stick with the SPD set up on road and gravel so swapping is a bit less of a hassle  After riding road for 6+ years I finally switched to SPD-SL this year and generally really like them (and the Lake CX 239 that I spend too much on ). That may be a conundrum for another thread though!

IDK, but I suspect the effect of extenders on pedal PMs would be pretty small, and much smaller to zero on spider PMs. You might ping PowerMeterCity and see what they say. I suspect manufacturers would simply say don’t do it because they figure the market is extremely small and they don’t want to be bothered with the testing it would entail. The biggest issue with extenders is the increased twisting force on crank arms, though they generally have enough margin that unless you’re a real monster, they’ll be OK.

That shouldn’t be a concern  Thanks!
