Oh man, you should have held out for two more minutes. That would have qualified you for the Adrian Hands Society.
The wind killed off my first plan (to do better than last time), so I went in for an Adrian Hands qualification. That gave me plenty of time to sleep on the way back. When I crossed the finish I felt just fine. After a sleep, I felt like I could go for another one.
There were a lot of riders on the course who shouldn’t have been there, taking up a place someone else who really qualified could have had. It was fairly obvious that a significant number bought their places without actually doing the qualifying rides.
It sure was windy. Fortunately on the west coast of Sweden we get that a lot, but even for me it felt pretty cold around Carhaix, on the way out. My Garmin registered 2.4 degrees C about a km out of Carhaix.
