LOL, I think so too. It’s funny for this video to mention the TR analytics, and then proceed to look at at least a couple of values that aren’t even handled directly via the TR app or results.
I jump to Intervals.icu for that now instead of redoing the numbers for each TR workout. I asked for VI and more in the past, but TR seems stuck on the “less is more” approach. I get that to a degree, but offering and “advanced user” option sure would be welcomed vs having to jump ship and spend time elsewhere to get more detailed info.
maybe the lack of analytics improvements are due to throwing the entire team at Adaptive Training. Perhaps we will see app improvements once that launches.
we get a lot of strong crosswinds on Wed night worlds and in an smaller 5-10 person echelon my VI is often in the range of 1.07-1.11. Curious if you’ve done windy crits and have some typical VI numbers in those conditions.
Oh, that is a can of worms. Totally depends on the area, rider and event.
I would guess VI will be HUGE in most MTB cases when compared to most road. Could be similar to CX for one thing, and maybe some crits with surges too.
I just added PM’s to my bikes and may have direct experience to add soon. Typical variation of hills in many MTB situations, especially in a race, would lead to major NP kicks.
First XC race of the season last weekend and my VI was 1.18, lol (1:40:13 duration). The next day did a 3 hour z2 gravel ride on my MTB and my VI was 1.05. What does it mean .
@bbarrera the crit in this video is the turbovelo tuesday night crit at Breckenridge Park in Richardson Tx. If you’re interested the strava segment is Breckenridge Park Loop & there are years & years of data for this race on that loop.
Interesting development - season 2 of Couch to Crit is here and Jeff is branching out into selling his own plans (unless he did already … but I didn’t think so?):
