There is talk on the Wattbike forum, that if you have paid for the V2 they are offering people discounted Atom X upsell options to save on the wait time - Wait time for the X is 2 weeks.
The issue with ordering the V2 now is the wait is until Jan\Feb.
Also on the upsell option, it then puts it in the price range of the other bikes and you then have to consider would you stick with the Atom.
Though, there was some good points in the review, gear shifting time .75 secs which is huge improvement over the V1 (though I dont notice it now im 6 months into using it) and the accuracy feedback is great.
Does anyone have any views on the wattbike atom next generation? Struggling to find any online reviews of the new one but sounds like it has improved a lot over the first generation - better resistance system, better gearing.
Am thinking of ordering one - long lead time though - 15 weeks!
I’d consider the possibility (small but real) that they never manage to fix it properly, and so I’d wait until a proven fix arrived in the field before buying.
Remember the Elite Drivo that, as far as I’m aware, NEVER never got a proper fix for it’s erg mode oscillations…
DC rainmakers review is now online and as an owner of the new Atom and also a trainerroad user as you likely are I concur with the review. Erg mode is unuseable for me and until they fix it I am having to ditch TR for my training. I will try using TR outdoor workouts on a zwift course in the meantime but if I weren’t grandfathered in to TR at a good price I would have to ditch my TR membership until the fix arrives.
This is not TR fault of course but I’m sure all wattbike users would appreciate @Nate_Pearson trying to work out or speed up the fix with wattbike or at the very least allow us to turn off erg when using the Atom so we could at use the gears (currently this is It possible)
I feel trainerroad will lose a few customers due to wattbike releasing a product before it’s ready
