New Lotus/Hope Track Bike for British Cycling and Tokyo 2020

Here’s a good read about interference drag, which would be my guess at the main aim of this bike, similar to the new Shiv.

The article did say it needs to be raced in the year prior to be allowed at the olympics.

Another article with some good pics and a video.

its down to this in the UCI regs:

Requests for approval shall be submitted to the UCI
before June 30th of any year, accompanied by all necessary documentation. If accepted, the innovation
shall be permitted only as from January 1st of the following year

So if anyone now tries to copy and wants to submit designs for a new frame they would have to send it to the UCI by June next year but wouldnt be able to use it until 01st Jan the following year, after the olympics

And it has to be raced at a round of the World Cup so thats this weekend.

My bigger concern would be the forks getting in the way of the sprinters arms or knees with the narrower sprinters bars and someone knocking the wider stays in a sprint competition
