Thanks for the reply - great to hear they have helped you. One concern I have regarding the Upstep (or Bilt) is how they play with wide feet, which I have. Do you have wide feet?
Also, Bont’s Vaypor Full Custom Innersole is interesting (especially since I have their corresponding Vaypor shoes), but it takes a long time to arrive.
My feet are wide for cycling shoes but I always wore Med/D width sneakers and dress shoes. The insoles look narrower than I expected but seem to work fine once they’re in the shoes. Upstep is supposed to have a good return policy so probably worth a shot!
FWIW: I find the effect of insoles to be quite different depending on what shoe I put them in as the inside of the shoes where the insole rests have different contours.
I’ve used Solestar black Carbon in Specialized Ares S-Works 1 shoes for 2 years. Love them. I have a reasonably high arch and had arch pain on lon rides before switching from the Specialized insoles.
Been riding Solestars BLK for six weeks or so and I think the arch is just a bit too high for my left foot. Anything with similar construction but custom, or at least with a lower arch height option? The Vaypor Custom insoles mentioned upthread look about right, but I wonder if there’s anything more readily available in the US.
Look to see if any local bike fitter do the Sidas custom ones there no much more than a pair of G8. Ski shops are another place to get custom insoles done to.
