It’s a 56. It’s absolutely immaculate. I’m in the UK though and I’m assuming you’re in the US…
Nope I’m in the UK ![]()
I feel a bit like and ambulance-chaser now though.
Are you sure you can’t source a new fork?
Haha brilliant. I’ll put the blues and twos on for you
Doesn’t seem that way, I’m just waiting to hear back from Cannondale as I contacted them directly via email. I’m going to ring a few Cannondale dealers but I think I already know the answer
What area in the UK are you?
I’m just south of Manchester.
I’m fairly certain you will be able to find a fork for it - you might need to take a hit on the colour not matching though?
I just sold another bike to that area, Cheshire to be exact
Well I’ll try for a few days and then go from there. The colour isn’t too much drama, I’ll just get it painted
Even if I do get the forks and then build it with Dura Ace this time, I might not be able to ride it so I’ll have to sell it anyway ![]()
Just spoke to Cannondale and basically the answer is “no”
#forsale
SuperSix != SystemSix
Typo! I got the frame size right but not the model ![]()
So are you after a system six or a super six? Ha
Spoke to Cannondale, they won’t give me anything because it’s not a warranty claim……
System six … but I don’t have the funds for new bike at the moment unfortunately ![]()
I hope you get back what you paid for it.
I couldn’t decipher from your post how much higher you need the bars, but Cannondale does make a -6 degree stem, and the pic looks like the -17 degree model, so if you only need a bit more that might help.
Yes that’s right. If I get a -6° stem, I’ll gain 19mm in height. I wanted 40mm so I’m halfway there but I believe that’s my lot
It looks like the bars are already somewhat high up in that photo. Did it come with additional headset spacers? Maybe you need a 58cm frame…
its got 25mm of spacers on it. I can go 30mm more as the bike has a max height of 55mm
55mm seems like a lot of spacers to use. ![]()
The reach doesn’t increase that much between the 56 and 58 or 58 and 60.
It sounds like you’re looking for a final “stack” of around 625 which seems like it could be really hard to achieve on a 56cm frame. I wonder how many headset spacers the bikes come with from the factory…
It looks like they do make a +6° stem as well, but it’s not integrated…
I’d personally find another frame, or pick up a Synapse rather than messing with the fork if you need the bars that much higher. ![]()
Yes its only the -17° and -6° which are integrated.
55mm is from the factory, previous owner had 30mm taken off the steerer, that’s what I’m trying to put back ha. It wasn’t an issue when I bought it but I’ve since been told I’ve got c5/c6 bulge in my neck and 3 in my lower spine. Hence why I’m wanting to get the bars higher ![]()
There’s a fork that’s available and I’ve asked them to measure the length and they claim it’s 39.6cm which is exactly the same length as mine. I asked them to measure it from the very bottom of the fork to the bit where it meets the frame…
This might be dumb but would every size frame measure the same? Is it just the offset that would be different?
I think the steerer would be cut different for different size frames… otherwise small frames would have a load of spacers fitted as standard and a large frame hardly any.
If you are asking if the actual fork is the same on all sizes - then yes I think so. The wheels are the same size an I dont think they would adjust the angle of the fork?
EDIT: looking at the table @eddie posted above then it does actaully look like the fork rake is different on the very small sizes - maybe to stop toe overlap? So look out for that but I would assume that was acomplished with the different head tube angle?
Just curious, why not just get a regular stem and regular bars? There are lots of high-rise non-integrated stems, and lots of options for non-integrated bars.
It seems like you have a few options:
- Give up on the frame and fork completely (high cost, very safe, very disappointing)
- Source a new fork (high cost, very safe, difficult if not impossible)
- Try to get a carbon steerer extension (costly, very dangerous, not really possible)
- Swap out the integrated bars for a non-integrated set (not as costly, very safe, very possible).
What am I missing?
regular bars on a high mod would be pretty crap lol. I just stuck a -6° stem on and its put it up 19mm but it’s not enough. Back to Plan B… selling it
