Looking for some experience here.
Has anyone done Clouds Rest +4?
I’m on the last hard week of Build 3, my last VO2 workout was Grouse +1, passed but hardly, leg were fading on the last few intervals, I rated it a Very Hard.
I thought for sure TR would hold me there for a bit.
Nope, it adapted to Bashful +4 for the better part of the week, then after getting trolled by the AI it switch me to Clouds rest +4.
I have no idea how I’m going to do this thing.
I’ve been looking at this thing from all angles to see if I find a way.
I think it’s the amount of intervals and short rest that’s getting me.
My last VO2 workout triggered a red day, I’ve never gotten that before from a workout.
Thanks, you’re right, that another way to look at it.
Clouds Rest +4 is brutal, no doubt.
Nice work on Grouse +1! There are parts of that workout that feel harder than some of the Clouds Rest family, in my opinion.
They’re each hard in their own ways, and I can see why the 30/15 format is a bit scary at first. Keep in mind, though, that the intervals in Clouds Rest +4 are all 30 seconds long, whereas some in Grouse +1 are 50 or 60 seconds long, which really does make a huge difference. Those longer efforts take a lot more out of you at those high-power targets, and they take longer to recover from.
You might feel the same after one set during Clouds Rest as you did during Grouse, even though there are more than twice as many intervals. It’s more of a constantly fatiguing set, though, whereas you feel each of those intervals in Grouse.
I’m pretty confident that with the right fueling and some confidence, you’ll make it through! You’ve got this!
Thank you for the info, I never considered the details of Grouse+1 as I’m mentally getting ready for Clouds Rest +4, took another look at it during work and thinking about fueling and music for that beast.
This is my last week before my recovery week /AIFTP detection and my goal is to nail Base 3 since my Base 2 got derailed a bit due some life commitments.
I’m hoping my body adapted a bit from Grouse+1 so I can be ready for Cloud rest +4
