Muov TiltBike [formerly Muoverti]

This x1000…the market is saturated with product right now, and will only be more flooded once they are ready to launch.

Between that and their high price point, I don’t see a good outcome here.

Going back to the size of the Smart Bike market, the reality is that the costs to buy one is not a small investment…and if you invested those same dollars in an actual bike, you have dual-use opportunities.

Yes, there are some areas where a smart bike makes sense (multiple users, etc) but I just don’t think the market size is anywhere near what people think.

  • This links directly to why I question their choice to make “frames” as their addition to the motion base. I’d have to dig to find the pricing, but their high price gets you a single frame and size.

  • Sure, there are adjustments like saddle height (and/or swapping a saddle and post), but since they use the “bike” model base, the adjustment is quite limited. As such, unless multiple users are very close in size, their model requires buying two “bike frames” that must be swapped between users. They demo’ed it in the video and it’s super fast. BUT, it means the users must store that extra frame between uses.

  • Other than that swap & storage issue, the fact that you are buying most of a bike that is totally NOT usable outside sure makes their direction seem like the wrong way to me. It’s a difference and has some interesting qualities, but I would have a hard time paying for 1.5 smart bikes vs a single one like all the others.

  • At least those have the quality of essentially open ended fit options with that more costly investment. That and the cosmetics, lower maintenance and such are reasons I could see using one of these vs a bike and trainer. I’ve got a very dedicated setup that essentially never moves, so a smart bike works in essence.

The price is high - 3,800GBP - but not outrageously so compared to other latest edition smart bikes. For comparison, the Wahoo bike v2 is 3,500GBP.
