Let's see your paincave!

Man you can install a split unit yourself in a couple of hours. Even if youre not comfortable doing the elctric run yourself (also not complicated, just take caution seriously). Ive got a 9k heat pump from pioneer, the whole unit was 700.00, Im in another 200.00 in conduit, wires, cutoff box, etc for an install still less than 1k. My garage stays a comfortable 69 degrees all the time now. My garage door is insulated, but there is an air leak at the top because it bows slightly in the middle, so I have a radiant heater that sits over there to warm air before it feels drafty at the floor level til I fix the gap.

I cant recommend it more.

My current space until it gets taken over again with kid toys. Gets the job done!

What works:

  • iMac for entertainment
  • iPhone with Garmin quarter turn mount on case for TrainerRoad
  • Shelf for extra bottles

What doesn’t work:

  • Could use a bigger or extra fan (I like the fan on my right to push the sweat to the non-drive side
  • Mouse is hard to access on workbench (I use the shelf but it’s lefty and not much easier)
  • Finished floor would be nice

Like that flag (I’m not American by the way) maybe someday I’ll put my flag next to the trainer. I have a jersey that’s made like my national flag and it’s great when I wear it outside.

What bike is that?

Buy this thing here. It’s cheap on AliExpress or Ebay.

How is it called. A link would help. Thanks.

I used that model for years. Decent, but I was annoyed with how fast it went to sleep, and the time it took to reconnect upon nee button or mouse input.

I got this a few months ago and like it better.

Edit to add a pic of how I mount these. Some small wire (cut to length, shaped and slipped between the outer buttons and case), with a rubber band wrapped around my aero bars.

That’s funny, I was thinking the same thing. I can’t even watch stuff… I get in the zone with music.

If you can, get hold of a training mat to prevent the drench of sweat that each session will bring

Quite the same. Hard training days only loud music helps. TV only possible to look at on the lesser intense trainings.

:blue_heart: the here’s Johnny poster !

This thread inspired me! Just bought a house with an enclosed carport and over the last month or so I turned it into a suffering sanctuary

How’s the matting interacting with the bumper plates? Do you get a lot of bounce? Awesome setup by the way.

Some of these places are far too nice to suffer in, I’d just want to sit, relax and admire the surroundings

To lower the standard, my pain cave is below. An old MTB frame in a unheated garage with an old radio tie wrapped to the wall and a home made stand. Perfect for suffering at 05:30 in the mornings

My sweat in one session would soak that TP roll. I go through multiple towels per session, and that is with a cold wind blowing!
