Let's see your paincave!

Nate does your wife know you are checking out other guys racks?

My happy place

Haha, I’m also using a light stand with a Super Clamp. Unfortunately the “table” it holds is my cutting board, so I have to disassemble every night before making dinner.

What exactly does the plate do, allow for side to side motion?

Yes, it allows rocking side to side. I think it helps with overall comfort, especially for longer trainer sessions. It isn’t like being outside, but that wasn’t my goal.

Wow - what are those fans!?

@Double-A Lasko three speed remote fans. They are awesome and I only paid $40 each. Robot or human?

Awesome. Thanks!

My indoor pain cave for the coming winter:

This is great, hopefully building myself a bike cave next year and this is great inspiration.

Here is our Pain-cave. We are still working on it but this is what we have so far.

  • Kinetic Road Machine trainers
  • Old Road Bikes
  • Old Computer to run TrainerRoad or watch movies
  • Computer screens mounted to the wall
  • LED bar light
  • Not so fancy fan
  • Speakers

This is where I can spend/have my quality time. It’s a tight/small/tiny room, but… it works.

  • All lights are controllable in intensity & color
  • As I have a sweat rate at the upper limit, a dehumidifier is mandatory. Also my fans
  • For entertainment I use FulGaz and TR Podcast (on YouTube) or listen to my Music
  • TR runs on an deprecated Android Tablet (this way it got a 2nd life)
  • End of month we’re moving to our new place, where I’ll have a less small room (18m2 / 193ft2).

View out of the window:

The cows… my friends. See them all year long. Will miss them.

Let’s see your set up! What works and what could be better? Computer is behind the wall. Ant+ dongles are in a wall outlet behind the bike.

What works: this set up is great. Speakers, TV and computer monitor. The fan is on a bluetooth outlet which is amazing

What could be better:
Better wall mounted fan

This thread is inspirational. I’m selling my house, buying a new one with enough space for a full-time pain cave.

Actually, selling my house and buying a new one because the family is growing, BUT… pain cave has been a discussion point in each prospect! I’m excited… right now, I just pull a mat and trainer and bike in from the garage and do a temp setup whenever I’m doing a TR session. Not good enough… Thanks for the ideas, guys.

Where did you get that phone clamp thingy?

Feels a little like 4 Privet Road ^^, Where Harry Potter would ride…

Amazon:

Hi

Got it from Amazon.

You’re all fancy. I train in a storage locker in my condo. I call it “Studio Storage” and the neighbors think I am really creepy.

The pink car is in no way related to the training but I think it really ties the room together.
