Let's see your paincave!

Fair enough! Just could not help myself from laughing a bit when I was scrolling and saw the same spot two years earlier

What ever works! I think I’m on my 4th spot in my current house.. I think I found were I’m staying!

My pain cave is in a closet … it’s 25 square feet of peace and quiet. :joy:

These days I ride indoors all the time, hence the heavy investment in fans. They really do help though

What’s the current thinking on ideal fan placement for 2 fans?

I currently have 1 fan on the bike table pointed towards my face. The other one on the ground facing up towards my torso. I don’t know if the fan on the floor is doing much.

One on your back offers quite a bit of cooling. I have one pointed at the front as well but it has to be warm in the room and I need to really get going to need them both.

I recently added a higher volume/lower wind speed type fan to my back, and I was pleasantly surprised how well it cools me. I actually find myself not using the front fan unless it’s an insane workout.

Does that mean I have two fans pointing at each other with me in the middle?

I asked about optimal fan positioning on another thread. I thought there’d be some aerodynamics involved about whether it’s better to have two out front ( so at 11:and 1 o’clock, maybe at different heights or is it better to have 12 and 6?) but there didn’t seem to be any consensus.

You can. I don’t have great place to put one directly in front, so I keep the front one off to the right say the 2 o’clock position. I can add one more off to the left when it’s hot but that’s not a problem I have till next summer here.

Seems pretty trial and error.m to me. And depends on individual circumstances, like positioning of walls, roof, windows etc.

For me I have a big floor fan 12 pointing at the torso. A smaller elevated one at 10 at shoulder level pointing at the face. And a tower fan at 6 pointing at my back. For warm days I also have an AC unit at my 9.

A slightly different set up in my pain hall tonight although I think I could have done with a 2nd fan on my back. This set up was only good for tonight’s recovery workout.

Finally have a fully dedicated space for my pain cave.

Nice @Reecey I see a fridge and a dartboard. I sense that there could be a nice recovery beer hiding somewhere down there! :clinking_beer_mugs:

There could well be :joy: A friend also pointed out that we could play darts while on the treadmill!
