That’s why I think different terms are worth consideration.
Frequency is the number of discrete workouts in a time frame, likely week based on history.
Duration is the actual time in a single workout. May vary between days.
Volume is the combination of Frequency and Duration, again might be within a week.
The whole “High / Medium / Low Volume” of old is a source of confusion and problems, IMO. Changing to more specifically identify the unique attributes of our training plans seems like a better direction to head.
Is the plan to also add in a sort of filter in terms of swapping out for example SS workout to long Z2 (as per the original plans/weekly tips)? Or will it just work within zone, i.e. swap a 60min SS for a 3hr one?
I love TR
Nate, to be honest I thought you were nuts to promise no price increases.
Inflation marches on, it’s a bitch. Employees want to be paid more, etc.
And on top of that you have been adding additional features all along.
Not many people want to pay more, I can drink more beer if I don’t give my $ to you.
But think how much more resources you would have with simple inflationary increases, even if some customers had to drop out. Think of the benefit to all of us in additional programming and service.
Anyway keep up the good work. Think of your customers and competition, but make the hard decisions when you have to for the health of TR.
Even being a small one, mergers and acquisitions are always a distraction. Yes, you get access to a new product and know-how, but you also (likely) now have dual technology stacks etc. And how long would the founder of intervals.icu be there?
It’s never as easy as it seems. I also quite like intervals.icu as it is.
The wired remote control isn’t even the most interesting thing, this is a beta VCR! I remember these L500 blank tapes from my childhood, fond memories …
Just wanted to add my support. And give Kudos to you and the great TR community.
When I received the email and saw a 90% increase, I almost fell off my chair. I was really in a conundrum what to do. I really wanted to support you and I knew I was on a great deal, but gee whiz 90%
But then I read this forum and the community reminded me that TR is a special company, and my money is going to a better platform for all. Plus, I really love what you guys are doing and want that to continue into the future.
I also remembered that I take advantage of the Articles, podcast, Forum, Youtube channel all for free.
So, I’ve opted for the 15% discount (thank you for this option). It seems right to me as I feel I have shown loyalty by keeping my membership running even though some years it was more of a donation than a subscription. I also have a number of friends on a different platform, and I tell them TR is way better. (as is racing at an actual track with actual people)
Really looking forward to what comes next with TR.
Thanks for the update. I get a lot of value for the pricing. I’m a professional/fulltime cycling coach and I could view TrainerRoad as competition but I don’t its a tool I use with my athletes (and for my training!) … so I’m happy to pay the subscription fee.
