Here’s my final thoughts on enduco vs JOIN (and note that these are my experience/my opinion):
- It doesn’t adapt your week instantly based on feedback/extra rides from what I can tell, you have to go “Edit” and have it replan.
- The generated workouts don’t have anywhere near the variety that JOIN does (which is amusing since JOIN workouts are from a pre-existing database while enduco is personalized).
- Notifications don’t work.
- I do like the home screen and the calendar view over what JOIN does.
- Despite having more data it’s not overwhelming.
- It has no “Why this workout?” which I like on JOIN’s side since you can understand a bit more about why it has chosen a workout.
- I trust the more explicit Goals functionality of JOIN more.
- I trust the over all training plans of JOIN more.
- I found myself having to manage my calendar more myself, even having it replan resulted in missing workouts which would then reappear if I replanned. JOIN “just works” in comparison.
- The extra money for enduco (it’s an extra $61/year for me) isn’t worth it, despite it giving running and some athletic training.
Unsurprisingly I won’t be continuing with it, but will still keep tabs on how it evolves. I also hope (and know) that some things will be incorporated into JOIN. The new feature request site has already made it evident that the ones I personally care about are in progress or planned: workout history, running, and readiness.
