I thought tr ai would recognise my struggles and adapt accordingly. I’m not decrying it btw but just wondering if this should be something it should recognise. I do a load of extra stuff. Like walking and gym (albeit nothing intense!!)
My personal experience is that feeding it things like walks, light strength/stretching/yoga/etc can create issues.

Yes. This. I avoid feeding it anything except for comparable endurance training and dedicated leg lifting, and I often forget to do that without issue.
I think it may over time. I’ve noticed that my Thursday workouts are often easier than my Tuesday. It’s not always the case though. I think as we continue to rate it accurately it should get better.
Yeah. I don’t think I could handle looking at that! That should be what a Starve or Garmin calendar looks like, not TR.
On the 1th of February I rated a threshold workout Blackcap Very Hard but was able to complete it, this shifted my threshold workouts for the month and Cloudripper -2 was on the plan today.
This one was riding the line between Hard and Very Hard rating but in the end it was mostly hard, I know I had another interval in me. My only surprise was that this workout triggered a Red day.
With the update I feel the AIFTP change has been fine so far. When I was excepted into the Beta I was on my end of season break with three weeks off the bike so I don’t know if the drop in AIFTP was because of the break or update but it’s been working so far.
I have Wheel -2 for my over under tomorrow, although I also had Wheel -2 for my over under on Jan 29th. My FTP has gone up a few watts since then. I rated it Very Hard last time.
It’s showing that a slightly harder alternate is Cloudripper -2. The bookends are harder but the rest between intervals is longer and easier..
I’m not big on swapping workouts, but I have also been thinking lately that I don’t think I’ve ever failed at TR workout, prescribed by TR or myself. I feel my FTP is usually reasonably spec’d but my workouts have always been doable.
Do I pull the trigger for Cloudripper or keep on the scheduled path……….
For me, what makes the Cloudripper rides much harder is that the before and after are done mid-Tempo, where the Wheel ones are high Z2. I find that final long Tempo interval harder to work though.

In know PLs aren’t so important anymore but. Is anyone seeing a gradual progression of threshold PLs?
I got my 239 four weeks ago, the next thresholds were;
Blackcap 3.7 wk1
Harding 4.1 wk2
Endurance wk3 (recovery week)
Fang Mountain 4.1 wk4 (in two days)
My verification ride seems to be Mount Baldy +4, which is a WL 5.1 threshold workout with 6x10-minute intervals at 95-99%. Seeing as I got a 7.1% AIFTP increase and my previous threshold workout was a 4.9 workout, it seems a tad excessive. It’s also 17 watts above my 6 week best 10 minute power.
not mine, but that might have to do with the way we rate them? I’ve been wondering about this, with AIFTP resetting every 28 days and tying you back to a TH 3.x, will we every see much progression in zone?
My current prediction is 1 watt in 2 weeks. I’m ok with that because I’ve felt like mine might be a little high, and I’m a little tired (due to both training and general life stress (I’m selling house and moving 1,000 miles away)), so I might decline it and use it as an opportunity to see if it extends my TiZ.
I haven’t seen a bump in threshold PLs either, but that’s probably due to rating workouts VH due to the fact that losing 6 pounds since the latest launch has made them VH. So seeing no W progression, only W/kg progression.
Wasn’t as hard as I was expecting, felt like I could’ve done two more intervals. Toyed with the idea of marking it Moderate but.
I gained two predicted Watts. Rated it Moderate. Gained another Watt. Rated it Hard, now I’ve only gained 1 phantom Watt ![]()

Finally had this in my calendar today, looks like I wrecked it by doing a vo2 max run session this morning as it’s become:
Pushed it to tomorrow and not quite the same…
I’ve posted some issues with changing it from Kennedy -1 so ended up going with it, and my prediction has dropped anyway ![]()
So I’ll spend the rest of the day concocting a plan that restores me from 257 to my 263 or even the original 267!
