☕️ “I took caffeine” as additional option on the RPE survey (fine tune the individual AI model)

4-6 mg/kg is pretty big. More than I get from my morning total war anyway. Might try a double someday

Joe

I am not a daily caffeine user. I only take for key workouts/races. I can tell when I have taken it. It makes a difference. Can’t say I have bothered to try quantify the X%, seems futile outside of controlled study. Individual response varies by the person.

But again, LOTS of studies that show that caffeine is an effective performance enhancing supplement. Fair for people to say “I have tried and don’t seem to be a strong responder,” but not sure why anyone would argue against the study results.

Try harder

Because there’s a world of difference between studies and practice?

If it’s so obviously true, I’m surprised that no one on these forums is able to measure it.

Hopefully TR can shine a light…

Again, one of the most studied performance enhancing substances…….where they measure it in controlled studies in labs………which is going to almost always be better than trying to measure this on your own in your basement…….used by professionals everywhere……….

But maybe you are right. Maybe “big caffeine” is pulling the wool over my eyes, but I am going to believe the science here.

I think, that you think, I’m railing ‘against the science’ - I’m not. But let’s leave it at that eh?

This is interesting.

I’d love a way to log my carb intake during exercise (a button to click “add intake” and ability edit after) would be far more useful thank a post-ride Garmin like survey where you just add the totals you took with no discerning when/how you took it in. Taking 75% of your nutrition after you already bonked at hour 4 is different than taking it nice and steady over the ride.
