How many bikes do you own?

2x road (Caad12 and Parlee RZ7)
2x Mountain (Orbea Oiz, BMC TwoStroke)
2x Cyclocross (SS Nature Cross, TCX Pro 1)
1x fat bike

The caad12 has been the trainer bike, might get ridden on the road a few times a year.

The Rz7 is my main ride, but some weeks I spend more time on the MTBs.

The mountain bikes alternate on my mood and if a course is more of a hard tail or full sus race.

Cross bikes will each get ridden a lot more this fall.

I consider my stable complete, it is nice to have an option when one is out of commission waiting on parts etc. The hard tail is at the LBS right now getting a new BB installed, went with ceramic speed for the lifetime warranty.

Fat bike for playing bikes in the snow.

YTD I have done 5 mtb races, 5 crits and 1 road race.

My wife has a road bike, gravel bike and a fatty.

I also have my mtb from when I was a kid hanging in the garage as well as my broken S3 frame…

1 bike purchases with two wheel sets. Simple is good.

And a Giant Escape hybrid that someone gave me and I use as a grocery store bike until the day he wants it back. And because Wahoo is lame I’m using on my Kickr 2 or 3 times a year.

So I guess that makes 2 bikes, even though I don’t consider the 2nd one my bike.

a dedicated trainer bike is a must for me. I’ve put over 20k miles on my “retired” road bike since I retired it. My current super bike only has about 5k on it since it took over. I have two mountain bikes, one full sus and one ss, but only riding the full sus one since I got it. Gravel bike I’m riding with my son in the neighborhood, but would be up for some more gravel. I only get outside 1-2 days a week, so rotating that many bikes is tough.

Road: Fezzari Empire
Gravel: Fezzari Shafer
Hardtail: Fezzari Solitude
Full-suspension XC: Fezzari Signal Peak
Full-suspension Enduro: Fezzari La Sal Peak

In a given week, I’d probably ride 3 of the above.

Not counting my dedicated trainer bike or low-end e-bike used (rarely) for errands.

My wife has an almost identical quiver, except her biggest bike is the Fezzari Delano Peak (150/135mm) – because she only does a couple bike park days a year.

Truth be told, It’s a lot to maintain. :joy:

Five bikes for me; coincidentally wife and I discussed this last night when grandparents brought a bike over for our daughter:

  1. 94 Trek “Mountain Track XC” 26" steel mountain bike with Indy S fork; in deep purple with red/back lettering and sweet Rapid-Fire shifting. Use it for park/yard riding with my daughter; will never get rid of it due to sentimental value. Considering converting it to a 1x and making it a dedicated rail-trail bike.

  2. Late 80’s/early 90’s Bianchi “Campione de Italia” steel road bike. Purchased almost 20yrs ago from an ex-semi pro racer who received it from a sponsor. Was my introduction into road bikes. He had swapped out parts so it has a Campy mix. Hangs on the wall in the garage and ridden maybe once/twice a year around the block for fun. Only bike in my collection I’d let go of; its a beautiful bike but really a bit small for me.

  3. 2009 Seven ID-8 Titanium/Carbon road bike. This was my go-to road bike for many years. Lucked into the frame (long story) and built up with 10-speed Ultegra. Light and great-riding bike. Currently on the trainer.

  4. 2009 Orbea 29" Aluminum Mountain Bike (unsure of the actual model). Bought the frame from the same ex-semi-pro I had purchased the Bianchi from when he was clearing inventory prior to moving away from the area. Built up with a mix of XT and Avid components.

  5. Capitol Bicycles custom steel “All-road” bike. Heavier than my Seven, but I love this bike. Built up specifically for longer endurance rides. Carbon fork, Vision aero wheels (set up tubeless) with disc brakes and clearance for 40’’ tires and built up with a mix of Ultegra and 105 11-speed. Built to my fit, it rides like a dream.

I like this topic … who doesn’t love talking about their bikes🤘

  1. Firefly Ti Road Disc: I use it all the time, and my main bike in the summer months.

  2. Open U.P.P.E.R.: My gravel bike, and the one I race the most. I also use it as my main bike during Spring/Fall.

  3. BMC Agonist 02: Mountain Bike. I use it every time I get a chance, but I don’t live in an area blessed with much single track or elevation. I travel with this bike more than any other. I also use it in the winter for outdoor rides on pavement/slush, and for date rides with my wife for speed control

  4. All-City Nature Boy 853 Single-speed: My commuting bike and all around townie. I don’t use as often anymore because I’m not commuting, but I still use it a minimum of 1-2 times a week to run errands, etc.

  5. Norco Search Carbon: My former gravel bike, but now that I have the Open this is dedicated to the trainer, which means it gets used 3x week.

  6. Cervelo Dual TT bike: (circa 2002) I don’t use this one much anymore, and I only keep it around because it’s not worth very much, and if I ever get the itch to do a triathlon again I’ll be glad I have it. Fun fact: in 2020 this was the only bike I competed on at a socially-distanced time trial event. I put new tires on it and had the LBS give it a full tune up and it worked great … although given the advancements in TT/aero technology in the last 20 years I felt like I showed up to an F1 race with a Volvo.

2020 Specialized Venge Pro - ride this one 6 days a week ATM.

2019 Kona Big Honzo CR/DL - was riding it once a week before school got out. Will get back to it soon.

2009 Cervelo P3C - tri/TT rig. Haven’t been on it since 2018, but putting it back together now to get back on for some TTs this next season and eventually IM. This will probably go on the trainer.

In the next couple of weeks, I think my split will be:

Venge 2-3 times per week
TT 2-3 times per week
MTB once per week

2022 Tarmac SL7 - my outdoor bike, ride it about twice a week on average

2015 Trek Emonda S6 - my first road bike, now my permanent trainer bike

2016 Specialized Camber Evo - this was an insurance replacement for a Yeti SB66 that I built up from scratch but was stolen when my garage was broken into. Basically, there was a period where I live when anyone with a bike carrier on their car had a fairly decent chance of their garage being targeted. As a result I took the roof bars and carrier off the car making it too much of an hassle to go MTB’ing. so hardly ridden it - shame as I have Glentress and Inners on my doorstep (well 20 miles away). Will probably sell, but can’t be bothered with the effort tbh.

Three bikes - road, gravel, and mountain. I haven’t ridden the MTB in a few years because we moved to an area where there weren’t trails. We just moved so the MTB will be refurbished and put back into heavy rotation.

I also have two extra road frames - a mint, vintage Colango C40 with an “art decor” paint job that I’m building up. I also have a Time VSX that I keep meaning to sell.

Actually own 5, had said 3, using 2.

One SS/fixie (rarely used nowadays),
one gravel,
one MTB (these two mostly used outdoors, which is weekends),
one donkey (ex gravel bike on the wobble board and hooked-up permanently to the KICKR and used 5 days a week) and,
one Airdyne (for the past Xfit days and rarely used nowadays).

EDIT: Will be getting one road bike 2023 for French Alps tour.

2019 Specialized Allez
2019 Orbea Orca
2020 Factor LS

Only ever ride the Orbea and Factor but can’t bear to part with the Allez as it has the Red Hook paint job and I do love that

Pinarello Dogma F10 - my baby
Specialized Allez Elite (2009) - first road bike, now sits around unless someone needs it or the Pinarello is in the shop
Yeti SB130 T2 - had an aluminum Stumpjumper that I traded in to get this and so glad I did
Surly Wednesday - you never know when you need a fat bike and will be used to commute in blizzards
Raleigh Rush Hour - single speed commuter that gets the job done but might be replaced soon

Always looking to add!

I love that the current top responses are:
Own 5+
Use 2

I’m not sure how to count mine, but: Colnago EPS (primary road bike, “climbing bike”); Colnago Tecnos (rollers bike, favorite back up road bike); Colnago G3X (primary gravel bike), Ridley Xnight (CX bike, back up gravel bike); Colnago CT1 (semi retired road bike/back up back up bike); Specialized (aluminum frame) Allez (permanent Wahoo trainer bike, not even sure where I put the rear wheel); 1985 Shogun 400 (my first road bike; currently stored, no wheelset, sentimental hold over). So…5 and two halves? 6-ish total? And they all get ridden regularly (except the Shogun), some more than others depending on the season. And yes, I’m single

Dang it, I completely forgot about my dedicated trainer bike…

So five-ish

  • Airborne Valkyrie (dedicated trainer bike)

  • T-Lab X3 Gravel/GRoad (aka Blue)

  • Cannondale Carbon Scalpel 2 (aka Syndrome)

  • Highly Modified Trek FX-5S (drop bars, 105/XT/GRX 1x drive train) (aka Cole)

  • T-Lab R3 (still being built, waiting for 8100 group to be completed) (aka Jane)

Yay, another Fezzari fan!! I love that your collection is all Fezzaris. Been looking at the Shafer (more on that below) but 26+ week wait time is tough when the the Lauf Seigla and Giant Advance are just 1-2 weeks.

I have one bike - Fezzari Empire. Great bike, especially for the costs. I think I’d like a gravel bike, but don’t seem to have many trails nearby. As it is I only get outside about once a week due to work and family commitments (all other rides are on the trainer), so kind of tough to justify to the misses another bike, especially since I just got the Empire.

Caad 12
2x specialized crux (geared and single speed)
Trek Procaliber
Giant Trance
Crux with flat bar and Eagle, city/dad bike
1960s schwinn tandem
Stages SB20 indoor bike

All get raced/used regularly, aside from the tandem. It doesn’t get ridden much.

Here is the current fleet

Specialized Tarmac SL7 (to be the primary road bike, currently I only have frame and wheel set)

Specialized Tarmac SL6 (to be replaced by the SL7 but it’s near and dear to my heart and I don’t think it will move out soon).

Trek Madone (the aero bomber for the fastest of days, to be sold)

Diamondback Andean (full-fledged non-UCI compliant TT bike - for days when not even the Madone is fast enough)

Specialized Enduro (When the going gets tough and for getting rowdy in the bike park)

Specialized Epic Evo (the do-it-all downcountry machine, sh*tloads of fun on the trails)

Specialized Diverge (newest entry, finally got bitten by the gravel bug and yes, I have yet to regret this n+1 bike)

1998 Carbondale Super V Raven 4000 (my first proper MTB - actually the second as the first Raven was stolen. Hasn’t seen the light of day in years but I can’t let go).

2007 Canyon road bike. Primary road bike
Caad 10 road bike. Crit bike with 60/88 mm wheels
2018 Crux used from August till January
2006 Canyon road bike. Winther bike
2003 Principia CX RSL (now gravel bike)
1999 Canyon. Trainer bike
All bikes above get ridden regularly. Maybe only for part of the year

1999 full suspension Canyon MTB
Single speed converted commuter MTB
Ridden a few times per year

None of the bikes represent any resell value and equipt with record 10 speed and Dura Ace 9 speed they will probably run forever. I don’t think I will ever get a bike with electronic shifting. When I am ready to get a new road bike the industry has probably moved on to something else. Mind-controlled shifting maybe.
